PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
Thank you for visiting our website. All Seasons Landscaping, Inc. is located and operated in North Salt Lake, Utah and serves all of Davis County and the surrounding areas.
Hi, my name is Kevin Ethington; President & CEO of All Seasons Landscaping, Inc. I thought I would share with you the history of how All Seasons Landscaping, Inc. came into existence. It was the early spring of 1987 and I was living in Bountiful, Utah. My Dad had just retired as a Greyhound Bus driver after working there for 28 years; he was always a hard worker and liked the idea of making some extra money; so he asked me what I thought about starting a lawn care business together.
At that time I had a part time job delivering Pizza in Bountiful, Utah and taking acting classes at the University of Utah with my cousin Darien. We knew some successful actors in Hollywood and wanted to attempt to make it as actors there.
When my Dad first asked me about starting the lawn care business together, I remember thinking “Ooh, all that hard work!” However, I was a hard worker and liked the idea of making some extra money so I said okay. My Dad always had rental properties since I was a kid and I was always helping him doing some kind of lawn care or landscape work. The first year we kept really busy and did real well. We advertised and picked up new business and would maintain mostly residential properties.
The next year (1988) my Dad and I split up the business; since he was already retired, he just wanted to work a little. Me on the other hand had my whole life ahead of me and wanted to build the business bigger. I met my future wife in the summer of 1988 and we got serious and love got the best of me and so I decided not to pursue the acting career. Instead, I kept building the lawn care business and started dabbling into some landscaping and sprinkler projects. The more I worked in the lawn care and landscaping, the more I loved it! I’ve always loved building things, making things more beautiful and bringing things to life.
After spending numerous years working in the lawn care industry I became very good at it, almost like it was a natural part of me. Although, I felt that I had obtained pretty much all the knowledge and experience I could acquire from it. I was already doing some minor landscaping and sprinkler system projects, but what I really wanted was to become a professional landscape and irrigation contractor. For this I found myself needing more experience and also qualifications to obtain my contractor license from the State of Utah.
So I contacted my cousin Robert. Robert owned and still owns a landscaping company in the Utah county area and had already been landscaping for a lot of years. He was already a licensed landscaper & irrigation contractor and also had a degree in engineering. He would landscape a lot of the parade of homes and did phenomenal work. He was the perfect one to learn from; fortunately I was family so he took me in and taught me everything I needed to know which I will always be grateful to him.
I worked with Robert for a long time learning the finesse part of landscaping, sprinklers, waterfalls, etc. I finally obtained my Landscape and Irrigation Contractor License from the State of Utah and continued to build my business. Later on, obtained my B100 General Contractor License as well. In a short while my business took off like a rocket!
Although I’d been working in the lawn care maintenance, landscaping industry since 1987; the business names that I had previously operated under from the State of Utah…well, I guess you would say were just “Plain Jane” business names. I wanted to give my business an attractive name and that would match our true quality and workmanship and also to show that we can do work year round. It wasn’t until 2005 that I finally incorporated my business with the name All Seasons Landscaping, Inc.
After all the years of transforming average to nightmare landscapes into magnificent landscapes, my love and passion is just as strong as when I first started. I love the landscaping industry, I love our customers and I love the people I work with!
